Could it be possible to travel to exoplanets in 100 years or so?? Could it be possible to deposit our genetic material there for extended and broadened continuance?? Check this out.
In my opinion, co-evolution is the hitch, though... how do you "build" a human to thrive on a planet whose conditions are *similar* to Earth's but may reflect, for example, the life from 3 million years ago (or future forward) rather than now - we would have to predict *everything* regarding genetic responses... allergies aren't even the tip of the iceberg.
Now... the genetic modification (xenomorph-human hybrid) of a life form that already lives there... THAT may be the thing. Sound much like Sumerian mythos? Weird. Not to say that WE created the cosmos or the planet itself, but you know. From astrotheological pantheons come ethereal monotheisms; when populations get large enough, and there's already myriad cultures to worry about, it helps to keep people in focus groups. So we contemplate The Big One. Anyway, we could always tell our hybrids an astrotheological pantheon myth-history, right? One where we are now also co-stars?
This seems to be a doorway. Not necessarily for *us,* but for our genetics. And for resource research as well. Who will determine the codes of conduct? Star Trek had a pretty good guideline going for that. It's probably been considered. Hopefully. But the possibilities! Can we protect our home base, first and foremost? We need it. IT needs itself. I don't think anybody has a solid argument against this. Do you?
