The Purpose of the Deity

Matthew 7:5 --
"Hypocrite! First remove the plank from your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother's eye."

Romans 2:1 --
"Therefore you are inexcusable, O man, whoever you are who judge, for in whatever you judge another you condemn yourself; for you who judge practice the same things."

===  Our very bodies do corrupt our minds with sin; even in deepest prayer are we bound to harbor that sin & our willfulness, desire, greed, envy, and like vices.  We cannot be exemplified as realizers and purveyors of the Lord's true judgment & grace in as much.  Our prayers can seem to provide answers from the Lord which are actually natural fallacies.  No matter how balanced a mind and heart and spirit we may believe we have (or which we are believed to have) we are human, and humans inherently err (sin).  We load our own perceptions with falsehoods, as we enculture ourselves in like manner.  As perfect as the Lord's creations all are, we are all in the Lord, and of the Lord, with the Lord, but still substationed in view of and subject to the Lord.

Matthew 6:9 --
"Our Father in Heaven, may your name be kept holy..." ("hallowed be thy name")

We cannot know the visage or the true name (description and identifier) of the Lord.  We can only know the Deity, with a human or anthropomorphized face, through which we can address the Lord.

Verse 3 of the Gospel of Thomas --
Jesus said, "If those who lead you say, 'See, the Kingdom is in the sky,' then the birds of the sky will precede you. If they say to you, 'It is in the sea,' then the fish will precede you.  Rather, the Kingdom is inside of you, and it is outside of you.  When you come to know yourselves, then you will become known, and you will realize that it is you who are the sons of the living Father. But if you will not know yourselves, you dwell in poverty and it is you who are that poverty."
